Not in Hawaii Yet

So I'm cleaning out some SD discs in preparation for Hawaii and I find some pictures from my birthday party back in June.  These are from a fun Japanese Restaurant we went to.  Yes, I am going to see a volcano in Hawaii.  Hopefully not one made out of onions.

My Life in Pictures

Here's what I've been doing:

Cleaned the garage - gotta love Costco shelves (ahh...organization!)

Hung out with my kittens (note the 3 cat kitten pile - that's Blackie, Jo Jo and Jazzy!)

Went to a Tacoma Rainiers game on Sunday with my friend Mary and crew (Rainers lost - but it was an exciting game!)

So my co-worker was jealous and wanted me to post this picture of him and his son.  I love the smiles.

Jeremy is our Communication Director.  He's a natural blogger and has some great thoughts on saying yes and branding here.

Jeremy is an innovator and always has an optimistic attitude.  I appreciate his willingness to be flexible and yet, keep pushing things to the edge.

I've learned lots about branding and blogging from him.  And he's funny, too!

Kayaks in the Cradle

Speaking of projects, I told you that I purchased two kayaks.  I'm finding it's amazing trying to tote around something that is 17 feet long.  Where does one store such a thing?

Well, all the commercial ideas were starting to depress me, because, well, kayaks just might be big hunks of floating plastic, but that doesn't make them cheap.  I was fearing that they'd turned into a money pit. 

Anyway, after a bit of gnashing my teeth, Steve and I went off to the Home Depot to search the store and see if we could figure something out.

This is what we came up with....for around $30.  Works like a charm, kayaks are off the ground in a safe spot.  Come the fall, we will cover them to further protect them from the elements. 

Everything is good, except for the spiders.  Yuck...I don't like spiders much and one bit me on the leg when we were putting up the racks.

Where Have I Been?

You may have been asking this question. This answer is actually "what have I been doing?" Answer: painting. It's turned out to be a bigger job that I thought, but the room(s) are really coming together in a nice way. I plan to post a bit on the lessons I've learned, but not yet. (Still using every extra moment finishing the details: put up curtain rods and curtains today.)

Guess What I Got for Christmas?

Yup - that's right, two of them. Their names are Jo Jo and Jazzy. We picked them up from the Kitten Rescue. So far they are proving to be a delight. And they are doing well at making friends with the dog and the older cat. What a great Christmas present. Oh no...I believe this might be the first step on the eccentric, spinster, crazy cat lady path. But they are so cute!
